When someone needs to verify a connection between 2 computers, one might use the Ping utility. When someone 'pings' a machine, a small message (a packet) is sent through the network or the internet to a particular IP address. The computer that sent the message then waits (or 'listens') for a return message. If the message is replied to, the connection is good.

A remote ping allows you to initiate a ping from a remote location. In this case, the starting point is from a server, not your computer. This test will reveal that this server is able to connect (or not) to the target host name or ip address.

Please enter a host name or an ip address here...
e.g. www.yahoo.com or 206.190.60.37
